Backgammon is the national game of Iran and Turkey and is played in cafes all over the country of Iran. It is a simple and fast game of skill and chance. Obvioulsly I learnt the game as a child and played with friends and family when they came around. It is ideal for lazy and laid back times, where people drink tea, smoke and play the game. All the backgammons are hand made with find details and styles. Although I am now good at the game and mastered it, I do not particularly like this game because of the chance element. It gets very frustrating when the apponent gets lucky and can win the game just by pure luck. However, the skill will show over several games. I can consider myself as an advance player but prefer chess or card games.
